Context
Digital settlement platforms, new contracting models, regulatory shifts and evolving consumer expectations were reshaping the property transaction system. Practitioners risked marginalisation without a clear role in a more technology‑driven environment.
Challenge
The organisation lacked insight into its members, the profession’s trajectory and the pressures reshaping practice. Without this, it could not lead transformation or influence regulatory and technological change.
Approach
We built the first comprehensive evidence base on the profession’s demographics, operating models and pressures. The organisation’s identity was reframed from a service provider to a profession‑shaping body. Engagement with regulators and technology platforms was strengthened, including year‑long involvement in the launch of PEXA.
Implementation
Organisational capability was rebuilt, evidence‑based positions developed and relationships with government and industry reset.
Results
The profession gained clarity on its future, stronger influence in system redesign and improved ability to adapt to digital and regulatory change. The organisation emerged as a credible leader in a structurally shifting market.
