Building System Alignment

SECTOR: EDUCATION

Context
A large professional union operated in a shifting ecosystem shaped by technological change, new workforce expectations and evolving policy settings.

Challenge
The union lacked a system‑level view of how key actors perceived its capability and influence.

Approach
We mapped the influence ecosystem — senior journalists, MPs, policymakers and peak‑body leaders — to understand how narratives about the union were formed.

Implementation
Confidential discussions revealed perceptions of capability, credibility and long‑term relevance. Strategic levers were identified to strengthen influence and institutional standing.

Results
The union gained clarity on strengths and vulnerabilities, improved relationships with key system actors and a stronger foundation for policy influence and public engagement.
